Our mission

Compassion as a lifestyle!

The mission of Table of Grace and the Sidney Church of the Nazarene, is to recognize that God has blessed us to be a blessing and to share the overwhelming abundance God has bestowed upon us with those in need in our community.
Food is shared with love and respect to those who come for assistance. It is our intention that they receive not only food for their family and physical hunger but also generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their spiritual and emotional hunger.

We believe the words of Jesus, that this is one way we can respond directly to God’s love for us: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35.

And to that end, we desire to bring all men, women, and children to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Impact

For the year 2020, Table of Grace distributed 109,242 pounds of food in 2020, which is up 33,152 more pounds of food. According to the Foodbank for the Heartland calculations, this provided 92,035 meals to our clients, up 28,627 meals from last year. Unfortunately, these statistics from the Foodbank only include the food received from Walmart and purchased from the Foodbank. They do not include food that the Table of Grace received from Safeway or purchased from local stores. Table of Grace has also helped over 35 individuals/families this past year with rent/utility assistance or shelter for the homeless.
